Message from WHA:
After the announcement from the government on Tuesday night, things have changed for all us. As mentioned in our earlier communication, WHA will be reinstating our Level 2 controls at all our venues effective immediately.
Hockey NZ has just sent Associations a memo of Hockey Rules and Protocol’s under Alert Level 2, Covid-19 to be shared with hockey community. We recommend you read through it (particularly highlighted area) and share with your members.
Sport NZ has also released a guideline around how sport look like in Level 2. We would advise to go through it and share with your members.
Also, please update players/coach/supporters of the following items:

At this stage gatherings must be limited to 100 which includes all players, officials and spectators, and all additional health and safety protocols must be met as per Level 2 restrictions. Please check COVID 19 website for more information ()

College Sport has advised NO spectators for secondary school hockey games until further notice.

WHA is limiting spectators for primary games to one person per child and NO spectators are allowed for senior games until further notice.

Spectators must use any one form of contract tracing app (NZ COVID Tracer or IDMe app) for contact tracing while accessing WHA facilities. QR code signages are up on all WHA turfs. For more information on how to register on NZ COVID Tracer app please see -

Changing rooms and toilets are accessible to the players for practices and games.

Cleaning and Hygiene - participants should wash and dry their hands before and after playing; equipment should be washed and dried before and after playing. Teams should take measures to minimise the sharing of equipment/balls.

Please use attached NHS site and carpark maps to plan your entry/exit to the site during trainings and games.
